It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Daphne Guinchard announce her passing on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at the Corner Brook Long Term Care facility at the age of 72 years.  She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 53 years, Melvin Guinchard.  Her son: Paul (Debbie); her grandson: Wilfred Blanchard; and 2 great-grandchildren.  Her sister: Phyllis Hutchings; her brother: Barry (Doreen) Verge;  sister and brother in law: Ann (Curt) Mitchell; nieces:  Esme, Tracy Lenor; nephews: Dave, Byron, Boyd, Kelly, Brent, Faron, Sheldon, David, Brian; sister & law: Lillian Verge; special nephews: Dean Mitchell and Tony Caines (Trudy); her special friend: Edna Matthews  Daphne was predeceased by her parents:  Esme & Howard Verge. Her sisters:  Nina (Mike) Caines, Olive (Winston) Blanchard; her brother: Leonard Verge and her in-laws: Harriet & Wilfred Guinchard; and her nephew:  Wayne Caines.  A private family funeral will be held from St. Joseph's Anglican Church in Portland Creek on Monday, Jan 11, 2021, with the Rev. Canon Terry Rose officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery in Portland Creek.  The family wishes to thank the staff at the Palliative Care Unit of Corner Brook Long Term Care Raspberry Road for the compassion Daphne received during her final days. Special thank you to Kim Gough.  We will always be reminded of the kindness shown to Daphne.  As expressions of sympathy, there are no flowers by request, donations in memory of Daphne can be made to The Janeway Foundation.
