It is with saddened hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Cyril James Ford on January 2, 2021, at the age of 85 years. He was born on Fogo Island on August 4, 1935, to the late Flurence and Ellen (Mahoney). He started working as a fisherman and then had numerous jobs which included working for Bowaters, mining, building the hospital in Gander, fish plant worker and dairy farmer owner. Cyril retired and moved to Stoneville NL. Cyril is predeceased by his son Cyril, daughter Maria (McIsaac), and son-in-law Robert McFarlane. Cyril was greatly loved and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Agnes (Wall), his children Valerie, Alexander (Pauline), Dianne (Gerald), Francis (Susan), Victoria, His son-in-law Eddie and daughter-in-law Debbie. He will be fondly missed by his sister Stella Noel, brothers Harold (Kathleen), and Clarence (Kathleen), brother-in-law Leo (Florence), numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as a wide circle of nephews and nieces and friends. Cremation has occurred under the care of Country Haven Funeral Home, Corner Brook. Funeral service and interment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.
