Payne - Graveside Service
January 13, 1940 – November 28, 2022
There will be a graveside service taking place on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 11:30 AM in the Anglican Cemetery, Cox's Cove NL, with Rev. Terry Loder officiating. All are welcome to join.
It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Claude Calvin Payne announce his passing at Western Long-Term Care, Palliative Care Unit, Corner Brook, NL on Monday, November 28 th 2022 at the age of 82 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his beloved wife Viola (nee Brown) of 62 years. Children; Grant (Kathy), Paul (Renee), Kimberly (Dallas). Six precious grandchildren, which he adored; Kurt (Sara), Kyle (Stephanie), Noah, Lucas, Jessica, Riley. Siblings; Eva White, Kevin (Anita), Gordon (Elsie), Basil (Pauline), Lyle (Doris). Brothers and sisters-in-law: Olive Sheppard (Hubert), Darius Jr. Brown (Glenys), Roland Brown (Dora) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Claude is pre-deceased by his parents Edward and Miriam Payne. Parents-in-law Raymond and Annie Brown. Sisters; Audrey Penny (Roy), Alma Lovell (Shirly). Brother-in-law; Taylor White. Sister-in-law; Melvina Payne, Clara Slaunwhite, Gwen Wiseman (Gav).
At Claude's request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 30 th 2022 at St. Nicholas Anglican Church Cox's Cove from 7-9pm from where a funeral service will take place at 2pm on Thursday December 1 st 2022 with Rev. Terry Loder officiating. Internment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Claude's memory to the St. Nicholas Anglican Church in Cox's Cove or the Parkinson's Society of Newfoundland and Labrador ( http://nlparkinson.ca/ ).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of WMRH-4A and the Western Long-Term Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and compassion during Claude's time of need.; as well as the staff at the Lanes Retirement Living Center.
