Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Clarence Henry Osmond at the Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook on Saturday, December 21, at the age of 90 years.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 62 years, Madeline (nee. Ralph); his son Darren and his wife Tina; his pride and joy, grandson: Lucas; his twin brother Stuart (Joyce); his sister and brothers in law: Veronica (Bill), Dan (Marthina), George (Irene), Alex (Thelma), Hubert (Gertrude), and Emerson (Barbara); as well as a large group of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.

Clarence is predeceased by his parents: Joseph and Sarah; brothers: Ambrose, Norman, and Chesley; his sister: Alfreda; and his in-laws Roland and Ellen Ralph.

The family wishes to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of both the Western Restorative Care and Palliative Care for their support and amazing care of our beloved Clarence. Thank you also to the staff at Westmount Estates for being so welcoming and supportive during his short stay. A special thank you to those who took extra time to sit and visit with him. You know who you are. He would lovingly call you "dear old friends."

Clarence touched the lives of so many people through his artwork, teaching, and kindness. He loved to fish and explore the natural beauty of our province with a camera in hand, always looking for the next subject to paint. It was not surprising to find Clarence out tending the gardens with Madeline. He leaves us with fond memories, hilarious stories, and a legacy of talent that he genuinely loved to share with others. He painted right to the very end.

Following Clarence's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation taking place at Country Haven Funeral Home on Saturday, December 28th, 2024 from the hours of 7-9 PM. There will be no formal funeral service at this time. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made in Clarence's honour to your local SPCA or a charity of one's choice.

"Their creativity lives on in the beauty they left behind."
