Chesley
Gardner
January 10, 1946 – August 23, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Chesley Gardner announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital where he passed peacefully, in his 77th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his children: Selina (Don), Tamara, Stacy, Tonya, Shane, and Dustin (Taylor). He held a high source of pride for his grandchildren: Devon, Mikaela, Tajanna, Natasha, Julian, Cohen, Kale, Robert, and Leah; and he was also blessed to be a great-grandfather to Raiden. He leaves a void in the hearts of his surviving sisters: Princelean (Ken), and Ruby (Roy); his brothers: Lloyd, Alonzo (Margie), and Roy (Alice); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Ches is predeceased by his parents: Lloyd (Aug 23, 2008) and Elizabeth Gardner (December 27, 2015).
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Mountainview Estates for their unwavering care, kindness, and compassion shown during his stay. Also, a special thank you for the companionship with Monty and Noah; whom he spoke very highly of.
At Ches' request, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation taking place at 1 PM on Monday, August 28th, 2023 at Country Haven Funeral Home from where the funeral service will take place at 2 PM in the Country Haven Chapel with Rev. Cynthia Hanes Turner officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Ches' memory to the Canadian Cancer Society (https://cancer.ca/en/).
As we bid farewell to Ches, let us remember the love and laughter. He wishes to leave behind a legacy of togetherness and hopes this inspires his family and friends.
"We remember with love, the life of a man who has touched many."
May you rest in peace.
