December 3, 1946 – February 9, 2026
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Carson Burridge announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital's Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook, NL on February 9th, 2026 at the age of 79 years.
Carson leaves to mourn, with many fond and loving memories, daughter; Carolyn Kelly (Sheldon), son; Colin Burridge (Paulette). Grandson; Lucas Burridge, brothers; Benjamin (Doilie), Derek (Diane), Warwick (Beverley), and Calvin (Judy). Sisters; Marion, Joan (Maurice). Special niece; Lisa Starks (Byron), and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Carson is predeceased by his wife; Sheila. Parents; Matilda and Bertram. Sister; Verna, brother; Bertram, father-in-law and mother-in-law; William and Nomie, and sisters-in-law; Cynthia and Linda.
A loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and "Poppy", Carson grew up in McIvers and spent the majority of his life working at Corner Brook Pulp and Paper where he made many friends. He often shared stories about playing softball, darts, and hockey in his younger years. Throughout his life he enjoyed outdoor activities including berry picking, moose hunting, salmon fishing, and cod jigging. Later in life he came to enjoy simpler things including short drives with his wife, watching TV, eating sweets, solving Sudoku puzzles, listening to music, taking afternoon naps, and following the Maple Leafs.
Carson's family would like to express sincere appreciation and gratitude to staff at Lanes Retirement Home, Western Memorial Regional Hospital (4A), and the Palliative Care Unit for their utmost care and compassion.
At Carson's request, cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Thursday February 12th 2026, at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 12-3 PM from where the funeral service will take place at 3 PM in the Country Haven Chapel with Rev. Terry Loder officiating. There will be no interment at this time.
