It Is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Bruce Donald Boland of Corner Brook, NL announce his peaceful passing on November 2, 2025 at the age of 70 years.

Bruce was born and raised in Curling, a community that was dear to his heart. In later years, he moved to Corner Brook and spent many years caring for his ailing mother until her passing.

He worked as a librarian at Corner Brook City Library before moving on to continue his career as librarian with the NL Foresty Department until his retirement. Bruce had a life long passion for learning and a deep curiosity about the world around him. He especially enjoyed researching the history of Curling and Corner Brook and was known for his vast knowledge and wit. Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his brother: Father Terry Boland; sister: Lorraine Patey (Clarence); brother-in-law; Karl Gilbert. Nephew: Shannon McHugh (Ashley and Jordan); his nieces: Michelle Plecas (Jeff), Lisa Abstreiter (Dennis) (Megan and Brady), Jennifer White (Charlie), and Wanda Patey (Dwayne) (Donald and Devon); his special aunts: Glenda Johnson, and Myrt Bursey; and his uncle: Milt Bursey (Marlene); as well as numerous cousins and many friends.

Bruce was predeceased by his father: Leo Boland; mother: Bernice Woodrow (nee. Bursey); step-father: Luke Woodrow; sister: Barbara Gilbert; nephew: Deon Patey; and niece: Terri McHugh.

In following his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Bruce's memory to the Western Regional Hospital Foundation.
