It is with great sadness that the family of the late Blanche Marie Fitzgerald announce her peaceful passing on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Center. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sisters: Christine McCarthy, Leona Wilton (Terry), and Mary Fitzgerald; sister-in-law: Helen Fitzgerald; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends. Blanche also leaves behind a very special family, who for the last 17 years cared for her and became their own; Clarice Hookey and her extended family.

Blanche is predeceased by her parents, Tom and Eunice (Brown) Fitzgerald; sisters: Ellen, Alice, Emma, Peggy, Charlotte, Tina, Aggie, Stella, and Bernie; her brothers: Joe, Clifford, Billy, Michael, Benji, Robert, and Tommy; as well as many sisters and brothers-in-law.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff of Western Memorial Regional Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit for the tremendous care Blanche received, and for making her final days so comfortable.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, November 9 ^th , 2022 in the Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel at 1 PM, from where the service will take place at 2 PM with Father Terry officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia. No flowers by request, instead, a donation can be made in Blanche's memory to a charity of one's choice.
