January 10, 1948 – February 15, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bernice Ethel Joyce (nee. Boland) announce her passing on Wednesday, February 15 th , 2023 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in her 75 th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: John (Theresa) of Yellowknife, Mary of Benoit's Cove, and Donald Jr. (Trish) of Lark Harbour; grandchildren: Bradley, Donald, Gloria, Makenzie, Brenda, Carter, Aaron, Leah, Joshua, Dylan, and Donna-lee; her great-grandchildren: Araya, Madison, Adrienne, Ashton, Summer, and Saige; brothers and sisters: Jim Boland, Tom Boland (Mary), Ted Boland (Monica), and Judy Reid; brother-in-law: Brian Fudge; son-in-law: Darren Compagnon; special friend: Deanna Childs; special nephew: Blaine Robinson; her best friend: Lorraine Humber; brothers and sisters-in-law: Marjorie Prosper, Ralph Joyce (Linda), Myra Vandermer (Ron), Dorothy Beubien (Maitland), Mary Propser (John), and Lillian Guy; and her wonderful home support worker: Christa Joseph; as well as a large circle of other relatives and many friends.
Bernice is predeceased by her husband: Donald Joyce Sr.; daughter: Regina; parents: John and Lillian Boland; sister: Joy Fudge; nephew: Christopher Beubien; sisters-in-law: Marjorie Boland, and Millie Boland; mother and father-in-law: Clifton and Mary Joyce; and brothers-in-law: William Joyce, and Wilson Joyce.
There will be a visitation held on Friday, February 17 th , 2023 from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the St. James Anglican Church in Lark Harbour, NL. From where the funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 18 th , 2023 at 2 PM with Rev. Effie Organ officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Bernice's memory to the St. James Anglican Church Fund.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Jody Penney-Sheppard of Community Support, and the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital for all of their kindess and compassion shown during our mom's time of need.
