It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bernard “Bern” Joseph Pittman announce his untimely passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, June 11th, 2026 at the age of 62 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 33 years: Roxanne Pittman (nee. House); sisters: Sherry (Rod), Susan (Otto), and Christine (Grant); his brother: Terry; mother and father-in-law: Harold and Effie House; siblings in-law: Dorothy Decker (Boyce), Emmaline House, Todd Samson, and Patricia Tucker; and his precious fur-baby: Shelby; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and many friends.
Bern was predeceased by his parents: Patrick Pittman, and Madonna Pittman; brothers: Jack, Jim, Peter, and Paul; and brother and sister-in-law: Jarvis, and Diane.
Bern never expected much from anyone in life, but he was certainly always there to help others and lend a hand. He was known for his quick wit, and he was always good for a laugh. Even a quick conversation with him could turn your whole day around.
In following Bern’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation taking place for family and friends on Monday, June 15th, 2026 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026 in the Country Haven Chapel with Father Edward Terry officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, a donation can be made in Bern’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
The family wishes to extend a heart felt thank you to Dr. Coleman and the nurses and staff of the WMRH-ICU for their compassion and support shown to Bern during his time of need.
