Benjamin Earl
Cooper
July 21, 1956 – July 6, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Benjamin Earl Cooper (Ben), who left us on July 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL. Born on July 21, 1956, in Pushthrough, NL, Ben lived a life full of music, laughter, and deep devotion to those he loved.
A gifted and multi-talented entertainer, Ben brought joy to countless lives through his music. Whether strumming his guitar, playing the accordion or harmonica, or singing with his unmistakable voice, he was always the life of the party. His passion for music was matched only by his love for family, friends, and a good time.
Beyond music, Ben had a lifelong love for hockey, playing from a young age until just a few years before his illness. He was a passionate fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Chicago Blackhawks, and he never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays. He also found peace and joy in fishing, often casting a line with the same patience and passion he brought to every part of his life.
He is survived by his loving wife Lori; his children Carla (Roxanne), Michele (Jonathan), and Stephen (Sabrina); his stepson Justin (Dominique); and his beloved grandchildren Grace, Taylor, Lucas, Sadie, Molly and Ellena, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his siblings Barbara (Roland), Calvin (Ruby), Nathan (Diane) and large circle of nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brother Gordon (Sheila) and his parents Elizabeth and Ben Cooper. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and music that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Cremation has taken place and a visitation will be held at Country Haven Funeral Home in Corner Brook on Thursday, July 10th, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., where family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man.
Ben's spirit, music, laughter, and love for life will echo in our hearts forever.
As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ben's memory to the Rotary Arts Centre at this link: Rotary Arts Centre, Corner Brook, Newfoundland ( https://www.rotaryartscentre.ca/) .
