Obituary

We, the family of the late Beatrice Louise Blanchard, wish to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to everyone who helped in any way during her illness and passing. A heartfelt thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of the Western Health Palliative Care Unit for the wonderful care given to her during her stay there.

Thank you to the staff of Mountainview House, Meadows, for the care and compassion shown to her while she resided there. Special thanks to those who took part in the funeral service: Rev. Greg Loder, Lay Ministers: Laverne Blanchard and Stephanie Legge, Organist; Dennis Barnes; Readers: Toni Lee Blanchard and Sonya Parrish, Pallbearers (her five sons: Archie, Faren, Ivan, Gerry, Murray; and grandson: Gregory).

Thank you to everyone who sent along condolences, gifts of food, flowers, cards and phone calls and those who visited, as well as those who donated to St. James Church Memorial Fund in her memory.

Special thanks to Dwayne Parsons and the staff of Country Haven Funeral Home for their professionalism, kindness and guidance provided to the family during this difficult time.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister; Beatrice Louise Blanchard (nee. Park) at the Western Long-Term Palliative Care Unit on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at the age of 89 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her devoted husband of 70 years, Gerald Blanchard; their sons: Archie (Betty), Faren (Kathy), Ivan (Donna), Gerry (Maureen), and Murray (Lisa); grandchildren: Gregory (Toni Lee), Laura (Paul), Deborah, Bradley, Cheryl (Peter), Kyle (Victoria), Adam (Hannah), Olivia (Devon), Melissa (Mason), and Hannah (Brandon); great-grandchildren: Abigail (Jamie), Aiden, Ashley Rae (Christian), Kaitlyn (Michael), Riley, Rebecca, Reece, Asher, Finn, Oliver, and Cooper; great-great-grandchildren: Henry, and Samuel; her sisters: Anita (Kevin-deceased), and Yvonne (Bill); and brother: Herbert (Mildred); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Beatrice was predeceased by her parents: Israel and Laura Park; parents-in-law: Edmund and Margaret Blanchard; and sisters, brothers, and in-laws: William and Hannah Park, Frances and John Park, Annie and Herbert Blanchard, Reuban and Drucilla Park, Margaret and John Park, Job and Doily Blanchard, Curtis and Regina Blanchard, Claude and Bonnie Blanchard, Lily and Benny Wells, Eddie Blanchard, Henry Blanchard, Harry Blanchard, and Jack Park (Alfreda and Margaret).

There will be a visitation taking place for family and friends at the St. James Anglican Church, Gillams, on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at 2 PM on Thursday, February 5, 2026 with Rev. Greg Loder officiating. Interment to follow at the Epiphany Church cemetery in McIvers. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Beatrice's memory to a charity of one's choice.

The family wishes to extend a very sincere thank you the the staff of the Mountainview House, Meadows, for their wonderful care and support shown to our dear mother during here time there. Also, to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Western Long-Term Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and compassion shown to our family during this very difficult time.
