It is with great sadness that the family of the late Auburn Maxwell Reader announce his passing on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024 at the Western Long Term-Palliative Care Unit, at the age of 85 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife: Joan; his children: David (Lisa), and Lynn (Richard); his grandchildren: Jeremy, and Courtney; stepchildren: Cathy (Frank), and Mark; as well as his in-laws, other relatives, and many friends.

Auburn is predeceased by his first wife: Eva; his parents: Marian and Wallace Reader; and brothers: Jim, Byron, Bill, and Gordon.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Westmount Estates Retirement Community, the paramedics, and the doctors, nurses, and staff of the WMRH-emergency department, ICU, and palliative care unit for their kindness and compassion shown to our family during this difficult time.

At Auburn's request, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service. Interment to take place at 1 PM on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 at Mount Patricia Cemetery with Major Brian Wheeler officiating.  As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Auburn's memory to the Western Regional Hospital Foundation, or a charity of one's choice.
