Card of Thanks

The family of the late Arthur "Bryce" Butler would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone for their kindness, support and sympathy shown during our recent loss. We truly appreciate all of the families and friends who comforted us during the funeral service, expressed loving thoughts and prayers by calling, online condolences, sending cards, generous gifts and food donations. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital for their kindness and care during Bryce's time in the hospital. We will never forget how your kindness and thoughtfulness have helped us throughout this very difficult time.

Sincerest Thank you,

Gladys, Bonnie(Greg) and Cory(Elizabeth)

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Arthur Bryce Butler announce his passing on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at the age of 77 years. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, NL. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories, his loving wife of 47 years, Gladys (nee Knott); his daughter Bonnie (Greg) and son Cory (Elizabeth); brother, Wayne (Gail). Also leaving to mourn a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Minnie (Sadie), father, Chesley Butler; stepmother, Elizabeth (Lizzy); brothers, Ross 'Goff' (Mary) and Chesley 'Ches' (Doris). From a young boy, Bryce, as everyone knew him, except for some of his closest friends who called him "Mose", thoroughly loved spending his time in the woods. He was the happiest when spending time at his cabin making snowshoes, listening to the Cabin Party on Saturday night and chatting with friends. He always had a story to tell (in his own animated way) that made others laugh. Bryce enjoyed helping others the best way he could, including offering them candy or some form of "sweet lick". Even during his most difficult days, Bryce believed that everything had a purpose and would continue to say, "Waste not, want not". As per Bryce's request, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or service at this time. There will be a private family interment to take place at a later date, with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. A special thank you to all of the doctors, nurses and staff in Western Memorial Regional Hospital who helped Bryce during his stay. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the charity of one's choice.
