Mom was well known for her fabulous cooking and baking and constant open house though whose doors many people passed. She also volunteered for many charities over the years. She was born in Jackson's Arm and came to Corner Brook in the late 1940's. She worked at the Glynmill Inn and The White House where she met her husband, Kevin Hutchings. She later worked at a day care center looking after children which she loved to do. She loved a game of cards, reading and knitting, especially for all the new babies in her family. She later met and married her second husband Earl Thistle with whom she spent many fun filled days. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility, 3 North West for their compassionate care for mom in the last 4 years.
There will be a visitation taking place for family and friends at Country Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 17th, 2026 from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at 11 AM on Thursday, June 18th, 2026 in the Country Haven Chapel with Rev.
